The TRIO Talent Search (TS) Program is a FREE program for students grades 8th through 12th who have a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher, who have academic potential to complete their middle and high school education and desires to attend college/university or vocational training.

The TRIO TS Program provides students free services such as individual academic advising, free tutoring, financial aid information/assistance applying, scholarship information, college application assistance, college preparation/admission assistance, career planning, free field trips to college campuses; career exploration; free dual enrollment information, transitioning to high school information sessions, ACT/SAT test preparation, parent information workshops, college prep workshops, STEM programs, goal setting, on-line virtual services, and much more.

All services are free! Please complete the TRIO TS on-line application. All information is CONFIDENTIAL and, unless specifically authorized by you, only TRIO TS professional staff will have access to this information

Student participation in the TS program requires both student and parent involvement, as listed below.

Students must:
• Maintain high academic standards, (minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average required)
• Meet with assigned TRIO Advisor via email, phone, or school and complete assignments
• Participate in planned activities attend two mandatory TRIO workshops and the parent(s)/guardian must attend one workshop.

When the application is completed and submitted, we will notify you if your child meets the eligibility requirements of the program. The term "low-income individual" means an individual whose family's taxable income for the preceding year did not exceed 150 percent of the poverty level amount.

The figures shown under family income represent amounts equal to 150 percent of the family income levels established by the Census Bureau for determining poverty status. The 2021 poverty guidelines are in effect as of January 13, 2021. Federal Register notice was published February 1, 2021.

To whom it may concern: I give my permission to release to the PBSC Talent Search all information pertinent to my educational program including a copy of my nine week grades, progress reports, test scores, graduation status, financial aid application, transcripts, college enrollment status, awards from state and federal funding agencies, post- secondary institutions, and the National Student Clearinghouse. I also give the Talent Search Program permission to request other documents as necessary to assist me with my admission and enrollment in post- secondary education and financial aid application and awards.

Photographs of our participants may be included in our website or possibly other college approved media. We require your authorization to use any photos we take of your student in order to do this.

I hereby irrevocably consent to and authorize the use and reproduction by Palm Beach State College or any person or organization authorized by Palm Beach State College of any and all photographs, video tapes, or film which have been taken of my student, both singularly and as part of a group, without any compensation to me. All positives and negatives shall constitute solely the property of Palm Beach State College.

The undersigned parent or legal guardian of the student who is currently enrolled in High/Middle School, hereby grants permission for my student____________to participate in activities sponsored by Palm Beach State College’s Talent Search Program.

The undersigned does further join in the release of Palm Beach State College, its trustees, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or claims for losses or damages that the student may sustain while participating in travel activities sponsored by the Palm Beach State College’s Talent Search Program. The undersigned expressly understands and agrees that Palm Beach State College, its trustees, officers, employees and agents assume no liability for the student’s participation in travel activities.

The undersigned grants authority to Palm Beach State College’s representative to authorize medical treatment as the treating or consulting physician deems to be necessary while participating in the college’s travel activities. Therefore the undersigned releases PBSC, its trustees, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or claims for damages arising from the exercise of the authority granted.

Should my student become ill or be involved in an accident, while participating in PBSC Talent Search sponsored activities; PBSC’s representative will make every attempt possible to notify me of circumstances of the incident. If PBSC cannot reach me immediately, or if the situation is such that it warrants immediate medical attention, I grant PBSC’s representative authorization to secure medical treatment for my student. It will be my responsibility to assume payment for such medical treatment.
