    CACE Application Instructions
    The CACE program is a federal TRIO program designed to ensure the success of adult learners eager to complete a high school diploma or the equivalent, apply and enroll in postsecondary education, obtain a certificate or degree, and join the dynamic workforce.

    You are eligible to participate in the CACE program if you:

    • Are a high school senior and 19 years of age or older; and
    • Are a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident or are in the U.S. for other than a temporary purpose and can provide evidence from the Immigration and Naturalization Service of your intent to become a permanent resident; and
    • Express a desire to enroll, or are enrolled in a program of postsecondary education, and request information or assistance in applying for admission to, or financial aid for such a program; and
    • Do not have a four-year college degree; and/or
    • A veteran regardless of age if you satisfy the eligibility requirements listed above

    • Determination of Dependency Status  
    • The following questions pertain to the student applicant. If you answer YES to any of the questions, the income verification section will be based on your (the student’s) income. If you answer NO, the income verification will be the parent’s information.

    • Will you be at least 24 years of age before December 31st? [REQUIRED]*

    • Income Verification  
    • Documentation of income is required by the federal government in order to receive program funding. All applicant information is kept in strict confidence and not released.

      The FERPA Certification and Release: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or FERPA, was enacted to protect the privacy of student records. I hereby authorize the release of official school records to the CACE program at Houston Community College, furthermore, the release of documents and to obtain documents relative to and consistent with my education.       I understand that the CACE program is designed to assist students who are serious about getting a college education and are willing to work for it. Our staff will work closely with you to provide comprehensive services to help you achieve your academic and career goals. As a participant, you will be responsible for the following: Meet with CACE staff, complete financial aid and other required forms, apply and enroll in a post-secondary education program that you chose.
