  • What is Grant Aid?

    Grant aid, or grant aid scholarships, is financial assistance that is awarded to program participants who have unmet need.

  • What are the requirements?

    To be eligible for grant aid students must meet the following requirements, per federal regulations: 1) Receive the Pell Grant in the Current Semester; 2) Be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.5+; 3) Be an acceptive and active member of TRIO Yellowjacket Achievers

  • What does an active member mean?

    To be an active member of TRIO Yellowjacket Achievers, you must have met with your TRIO advisor in the semester that you are applying for grant aid. This does not include the grant aid interview and must be completed before the application deadline of September 30th.

  • 3. Required Workshops if you are Awarded Grant Aid

    Federal regulations require that all SSS Grant Aid recipients complete financial literacy training. You will need to attend a Financial Literacy workshop in both fall and spring semesters, so please be sure to check your UWS email for the dates of those workshops.

    I understand that if my federally allotted financial aid has been maxed out for this academic year, my grant will be credited towards any loans I have taken. I also understand that if I have no loans, and I have maxed out my financial aid, I will not receive this grant.
