    Miles College’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is here to help you earn your degree. We are a Student Support Services program federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Our mission is to provide academic and personal support to help participants be successful as they pursue their undergraduate degree from Miles College.

    Note: Admission to SSS is limited to freshmen and sophomores.

     

    PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

    1. Be enrolled full-time except summer terms.
    2. Remain enrolled at Miles College and strive to graduate from Miles College within 6 years.
    3. Attend tutoring, counseling and other support sessions as recommended.
    4. Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.

I further understand that I can lose my place in SSS and all the privileges associated with participation if I fail to do any of the above after being accepted.

      Federal regulations require income information to determine which applicants meet TRIO-SSS federal income eligibility guidelines. Income eligibility is determined by your NUMBER OF HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS/FAMILY UNIT (from your FAFSA, Line 72) and your family's 2020 TAXABLE INCOME (from your 1040 Income Tax form, Line 15). PLEASE NOTE: Your TAXABLE INCOME should be less than your ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME.!

      For family units with more than eight members, add the following amount for each additional family member: $6,720 for the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia and outlying jurisdictions; $8,400 for Alaska; and $7,725 for Hawaii.

      The term "income eligible individual" means an individual whose family's taxable income for the preceding year did not exceed 150 percent of the poverty level amount.

      The figures shown under family income represent amounts equal to 150 percent of the family income levels established by the Census Bureau for determining poverty status. The 2020 poverty guidelines are in effect as of January 15, 2020. Federal Register notice was published January 17, 2020.

      Miles College TRIO Student Support Services) is a Federal TRIO Program and is 100% federally funded in the amount of $261,888, annually.
