Welcome
Participants are encouraged to use SSS services throughout their MSU years until graduation. When you leave MSU, please visit us to fill out an exit form so we can hear about your future plans.
Signatures
Your signature is very important to us. SSS is a TRiO program that is funded by the U.S. Department of Education. In order to maintain funding, it is very important to sign in every time you come in to visit with us.
Academic Development— Tutoring
Tutoring from the SSS Tutoring Staff is available to all participants in the SSS Program. SSS Tutors may specialize in specific subjects or be knowledgeable in a broad range of subjects. While tutoring is not mandatory to remain in the program, it is strongly recommended if you are struggling with your coursework or your GPA falls below a 3.0.
SSS Staff Appointments
All participants are expected to meet with SSS Staff at least once a month each academic semester. Participants may schedule more appointments with SSS Staff as needed.
Registration Holds
As a reminder to make an appointment with SSS Staff, all participants will have holds placed on their student accounts prior to registration for classes.
Personal Development
Participants are asked to attend SSS led workshops. Check your SSS calendar for workshop schedules. Additionally, be sure to monitor your email during the semester for periodic updates about SSS workshop offerings.
Student Engagement
University and community service involvement is encouraged along with participation in various social and cultural events, banquets and/or conferences, and research activities.
Other Expectations
Participants are expected to strive towards academic success. It is therefore expected that all participants communicate their needs as they arrive so that we as a staff may serve you to the best of our ability.
