The McNair Scholars Program is a federal TRiO program funded at numerous institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S. Department of Education. All activities are designed to assist eligible students persistence in college from year to year, remain in good academic standing each semester, graduate from NCATSU, and to gain admission to doctor of philosophy (PhD) granting programs through involvement in research, mentorship with faculty, and additional scholarly activities.
Students selected to be in the TRiO McNair Scholars program must meet certain criteria set forth by the Department of Education. North Carolina A&T State University’s McNair Scholars program is funded from 2022-2027 entirely by the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $261,888 annually.
