  • TRIO SSS is a federally funded student support program designed to assist students who are the first in their family to pursue higher education, come from low-income families, or have a disability. We are excited to extend an invitation to all students to join us on a journey of academic excellence and personal growth.       TRIO SSS participants must meet eligibility guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Education. Please review the questions carefully and respond. TRIO SSS personnel may contact you to clarify any information in this section.

      As a TRIO SSS participant:

      1. I agree to meet with my TRIO SSS counselor a minimum of 3 times per semester, or as directed, to aid in my academic progress, success, financial, career, and/or extracurricular activities.
      2. If I am required to meet with an EOP, Bridges, CSTEP or other program counselor, I will talk to my TRIO SSS counselor to set up a personalized schedule.
      3. If I cannot attend an appointment, I will attempt to notify my counselor or the TRIO SSS office at least 2 hours in advance.
      4. I understand I can reach out to my TRIO SSS counselor or the TRIO SSS department at any time.
      5. I agree to let TRIO SSS staff exchange pertinent academic & financial information, including federal tax information from the IRS, with other campus departments to support my goal of earning a bachelor’s degree.
      6. I understand to be eligible for one-to-one tutoring services, I must be meeting with my TRIO SSS counselor as directed.
      7. I agree to meet with my tutor a minimum of 4 hours per semester for each course in which I apply for tutoring services.
      8. I agree to be prepared for, attend, and participate actively in my classes, tutoring sessions, staff appointments, and/or workshops whether they be face-to-face or virtual.
      9. I agree to attend at least one TRIO SSS event in addition to my scheduled counseling appointments.
      10. I permit TRIO SSS to use any pictures, video, or audio recordings, videos taken by TRIO SSS staff, students, and mentors, or other written testimonials to promote the program.
