Central Piedmont's TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a college retention and degree completion program centered on academic, personal, social and career support for qualified students. TRIO SSS provides students with no cost success coaching, tutoring, and counseling services to help increase retention, persistence, degree completion and transfers to 4-year institutions. TRIO SSS is a federally funded program grant through funds provided through the U.S. Department of Education.
Services include but are not limited to the following:
· Academic Tutoring
· Personal Counseling
· Success and Career Coaching
· Financial Literacy
· Cultural Enrichment Activities (field trips, museum tours, theatre, etc.)
· Computer Lab
· Transfer Assistance
· Workshops covering study skills, budgeting, time management and more
All services are FREE for program participants!
Program Qualifications
Students must meet at least one of the following:
1. First-generation college student (neither parent has a 4-year degree)
2. Low income eligible
3. Disabled and have a documented disability on file with the Office of Disability and Access.
Additionally, income and disability documentation may be required. Students with a disability will be asked to provide a copy of their accommodations plans from the Office of Disability and Access Services. Documentation is a requirement of the federal government.
