  • TRIO Student Support Services is a federally-funded program supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to improve college success and graduation rates. TRIO SSS offers holistic advising, supplemental academic tutoring, financial literacy, and student success workshops to help students succeed in the College for Women at St. Catherine University.

    To be considered as applicants, students must meet federal eligibility requirements and be accepted into the College for Women at the time of application. The federal eligibility criteria are:

    • Student must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident or be eligible for federal student aid

    AND

    • Meet one or more of the following:
      • Member of a low-income household (see https://www.ed.gov/about/ed-offices/ope/trio/federal-trio-programs-current-year-low-income-levels for details).
      • First-generation college student (parent/guardian did not hold a bachelor’s degree while student was in high school).
      • Have a documented disability.

    The final application deadline for fall 2025 is Monday, September 8th. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and a limited number of spots are available, so please apply as soon as possible. After you apply, you will receive an update at your St. Kate's email address with your next steps to join TRIO SSS.

      Dependency status is determined by financial aid rules. Generally, you are considered dependent if you are under 24 (as of 12/31/2024), have no kids, are not married, and are not serving active duty in the U.S. armed forces.
