    Descriptions for Application Criteria:

    Before you begin your application, you must meet the first two requirements:

    1. U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident
    2. Admitted or enrolled at Franklin College

    Meet at least one of the following three.

    1.  First-Generation Student: Neither of your natural/adoptive parents have graduated with a 4-year bachelor’s degree.
    2. Student with a Disability: Individual has a documented disability, an IEP, or 504 Plan in high school.
    3. Low-Income Student: Individual meets the criteria of the federal guidelines, link HERE.

Typically, an independent student is 24 or older, has a dependent, is married, or has received approval from the Financial Aid Office to be considered an independent student.*
