If you are considered a dependent as defined by FAFSA guidelines, please enter your parent's taxable income to complete the following questions. As a reminder, even if you don’t live with your parents/guardians, they don’t support you financially, or claim you on their taxes, you are still considered a dependent unless one of the following is true:
- You are 24 years or older
- You are married
- You have children
- You have dependents other than child/spouse who live with you and received at least half of their support from you
- You are currently serving on active duty in the U.S. armed forces for purposes other than training
- You are a veteran of the U.S. armed forces
- At any time since turning age 13, both parents are deceased, you were in foster care, or you are a dependent or ward of the court
- You are an emancipated minor or in a legal guardianship
- You are an unaccompanied youth who is homeless or at risk of being homeless
